Last night all indications were that the wind will be in the mid 40 km/hr but in the end it was a soft’ish 30+ NW. Never the less as always the second half of this route never fails to excite as you are able to link the SW swell with the bounce back. Get the combination correct and its one quick crazy rollercoaster all the way to Milnerton.

The bigger the swell the more exciting but this time the small swell was enough. The spot that most attempted to come in was closer to Maestro’s which was exactly where the rip and the sand bank was. A number of very able paddlers took this opportunity to claim the “Dances with Waves” but in the end it went to Paul & Dion who should have taken overall victory but wanted the “Dances with Waves” more. Eugene clean up the fleet in 43:04. For those who chose not to do the Reverse Down Wind should think twice next time!! It’s a great DOWNWIND! Oh and thanks to Johann van Blerk for sending out the sms for me ;-)
