The early season Downwinds are at the mercy of the last cold fronts that are just sweeping south of the country.

This left us with the out and back option from Milnerton. The ski paddlers followed the leading (fastest) crew for 25 minutes and then all turn at the same time for the an equal handicap race back to the beach. The leading boat Phil & Dale put in a mock turn which was enough to get Tallon racing back to the beach which in turn caused half the fleet to follow. When the double did their actual turn it was a 3 horse race between Zaren, Gavin and the double. Zaren managed to pip Gavin by a second with is light footed sprint on the beach.

The SUP’s did two laps to the Milnerton buoy. The first lap the SUP\s managed to get around before the yachts but with the second rounding heading for another argy bargy affair they went around a surfski just sort of the buoy.

With the Westerly comes the blue bottles which were a plenty but nobody got stung this time. Pictures of this evening can be found HERE.
